Based on the instructions of HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan

•   ZonesCorp signs contracts to establish 11 residential cities for laborers with a cost of AED 2.5 billion,
•    HH Shaikh Hamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan praises the wise leadership of the UAE for supporting the rights of laborers.
•    He also praises the private sector for its support to industrial and construction projects

Based on the instructions of HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, HH Shaikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announces his full satisfaction of steps taken by ZonesCorp to construct residential cities and residential complexes for laborers working in the fields of industry and constructions.

He made statement in which he said ZonesCorp has signed contracts with 11 companies to construct residential complexes to accommodate 300.000 laborers with a cost totaling AED 3 billion. 

He added:” based on the instructions of HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and HH Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, those complexes will be built according to international specifications of safety, security, environment and health standards”.  He also stated that establishing of such residential complexes is a clear reflection of the interaction of our wise leadership with international laws that call for providing the basic needs of laborers.

On the same occasion, HE Engineer Jaber Hareb Al Khaili, CEO of ZonesCorp made statement in which he said:

 I have the pleasure to announce that what we are about to witness today is only another step in the long process of continuing the social justice we are currently enjoying in the UAE.

He added: “establishing residential cities and residential complexes for workers who work in the sectors of industry and constructions stems from  the wise leadership of HH Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE- may Allah preserves him- and the instructions of HH Shaikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as such residential cities and residential complexes are clear reflection of the sound social vision to have a society where everybody will live in stable, secure, and conducive environment”.

 He also said:” Its because of the participation and cooperation of the private sector with the public sector we are managing to accomplish such huge projects”.

The wise leadership of the UAE expresses the strategy of our country to interact strongly with laws and regulations that aim to provide basic needs of workers. When laborers live in residential cities and residential complexes where all international standards of safety, security, environment and health are adhered to, that will help them to be more productive and more interactive. We want to assure our partners that ZonesCorp is very willing to discuss with them and to exchange ideas about how to overcome any obstacles- if any- as that will help us to cooperate fully in order to achieve the general interests of our dear country.

The mechanism of establishing those complexes is aimed to ensure that that they will be managed and operated with clear roles and responsibilities. That will incorporate: marketing, leasing, building maintenance, security, crisis management, cleaning and waste disposal, and landscaping of those residential complexes.

Bids were tendered to construct 3 residential complexes in Abu Dhabi and 2 in Al Ain.  According to those tenders, Al Rayan Investment Company will be in charge of establishing one residential complex. While Bin Omier Holding Group will construct another one.

Currently, 8 investors have started constructing residential complexes to accommodate 300.000 laborers in an area of 25.000 square meters.

Objectives of temporary workers residential cities are to provide a safe and conducive living environment for temporary workers in UAE, to cover the increased high demand of workers’ residence in Abu Dhabi within a specified time limit; temporary residence will be a transitional stage up to the completion of permanent residences, temporary accommodations will be ready within a maximum period of 6 months, removal of old labor camps which interrupt the development of Shaikh Mohamed Bin Zayed  City by transferring them to temporary workers cities.

At the end of the contracts signing ceremony, chairmen of boards of directors of the concerned companies expressed their support to these projects which are contributing to availing social security and stability for laborers and for our whole society in general.
