Call for relocating workers to residential sites of Musaffah Call for relocating workers to residential sites of Musaffah

Companies in the fields of contracting, maintenance, security services and cleaning that have not yet relocated their workers to the designated residential sites in Musaffah have been urged to do so at the earliest by the Abu Dhabi Municipality (ADM).

The relocation of these workers to the quality labour accommodation, constructed and managed by the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones, is essential for the workers' social, physical and psychological wellbeing, an ADM official said.

"Often, more than ten labourers from contracting, maintenance, security service and cleaning companies are found crowded into a single room. The living conditions in these situations are inhumane, and this is why the municipality is urging on their relocation," the official told Gulf News.

The official also said that there were still companies which had not moved their employees to the new accommodation in Musaffah.

"I cannot say why they have not yet done so, but the ADM is taking steps to ensure that they do so at the earliest. So, when companies renew their annual licenses, they are asked to provide documentation showing that their workers and technical staff are already accommodated in the residential cities or are in the process of relocating there," the official explained.
