The Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp) hosted an award receiving ceremony on its premises where it received the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 certificates for its implementation of the of environmental management system within its industrial cities and the workers residential cities.

H.E Mohamed H Al Qemzi, Chief Executive Officer Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp) commenced the ceremony saying that ZonesCorp has received the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 awards through the commitment of the HSE & Security Department in the implementation of environmental management system in line with the Abu Dhabi Government strategy to reach international standards across all its departments.

"ZonesCorp has accomplished a key milestone for the organization," H.E said. "ZonesCorp is now accredited to the international standards of ISO 14001 (Environment Management System Standard) & OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health & Safety Assessment Series). This successful accomplishment is a result of serious and dedicated contribution from all ZonesCorp employees across all levels of the organization to enable result oriented implementation of the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards," H.E added.

H.E Mohamed H Al Qemzi received the ISO 14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001: 2007 awards from Mr. Markus Lechtermann, Vice President, TUV NORD Middle East who expressed his confidence that ZonesCorp will continue to develop and enhance its image and that of the industrial cities and industrial sector and promote Abu Dhabi Emirate as the leading industrial infrastructure destination globally.

Mr. Fahad Al Braidy, Director of HSE & Security Department, on his part confirmed that receiving these awards is a great achievement and reflects ZonesCorp efforts in assuring the highest standards of environmental management systems are adhered to within all the industrial cities.
