As part of its corporate social responsibility programs and commitment to enhance awareness about its contribution to the development of industrial sector and economic growth of Abu Dhabi, the Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp) received groups of Secondary school students who have been invited to learn about the current and future projects established at Abu Dhabi's modern industrial cities run by ZonesCorp.
The students who came from different Abu Dhabi secondary schools were welcomed by ZonesCorp and introduced to the activities and projects run and operated by the Corporation in its modern industrial cities, stressing its role in the development of industrial sector through attracting local and foreign investments, providing modern infrastructure and world-class services, and enhancing Abu Dhabi's position among the leading global economies.
In addition to its role in developing the industrial infrastructure and targeting to build diversified economic base for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, ZonesCorp representatives explained to the students that it also adopts models of best global practices, cultivates a business climate conductive to growth and driving the diversification of the economy, and enhances the local industry.
Answering the students' questions about ZonesCorp projects, the representatives pointed out that ZonesCorp has developed 46 km2 of land that hosts 5 industrial cities in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, and that it is also planning to develop another 32 km2 of industrial land in Mussafah area, and additional land in both the Western and Eastern Regions.
"Not only we are building industry here, we also help easing the social pressure caused by the increasing number of population in Abu Dhabi city through accommodating over 300,000 workers working in Abu Dhabi, You should be proud that such huge, advanced and world-class industrial projects are existed in your country, Abu Dhabi in particular, where the government empowered us to develop the infrastructure enabling business environment to reshape the Emirate's economic landscape through the implementation of targeted industrialization and investment programs." "You also have an important role to play once you finish your study. We encourage you to work hard, graduate, and have your prints in the development of industrial sector in this emirate and, consequently, contribute to the economic growth of your country," added ZonesCorp representatives.
The students were given a tour and visited one of the factories operating in one of the industrial cities of ZonesCorp. The students had the chance to observe the production process at the factory. They hailed the factory manager accompanying them in the tour with different questions about the quality of the factory products, the source of their raw materials and the marketing strategies they adopt.
