The Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZONESCORP), has announced plans to build family-styled labour complexes to provide proper residential units for those with limited incomes.
The ZONESCORP has taken regulatory measures to ensure good environment for residents at the current labour accommodations.
Engineer Khadem Sawayeh Al Muhairi, executive director for the labour services at the ZONESCORP, said the corporation would construct world-class complexes at competitive prices for the limited income categories. 40 per cent of the labour complexes will be allocated for families, indicating that the corporation at this moment is seeking to build such complexes for workers at industrial sector.
Earlier the corporation has taken a number of regulatory measures that aim at ensuring societal security at the current labour cities, following granting of rent contracts to families by some companies in contrary to their obligations to only rent the labour premises to the bachelors.
Al Muhairi added that the corporation requested companies to create entrances and exits for families residing at the labour residences, adding that they were issued ultimatum to get families out of these labour accommodations.
"Setting up of the labour complexes aim at providing good accommodation for workforce in the emirate upon the instructions of wise UAE leadership to provide convenient economic accommodation for workers with limited incomes in industrial and construction sectors", he added.
Al Muhairi said that the corporation was committed towards the investors and beneficiaries of the labour complexes to control prices and ensure affordable prices and comfort.
