Saint-Gobain

Strategically placed to play an integral role in the construction of the UAE’s major developments.

Headquartered in Paris, France, Saint-Gobain has operations in over 60 countries worldwide, and established its Middle East subsidiary, Gyproc, in 2005. Gyproc provides gypsum-based solutions to the Middle East for its ZonesCorp base, including Gyproc Plasterboard, Gyproc Metal Products and Accessories, Gyproc Plaster and Perforated Acoustic Gypsum Products.

Gyproc products have been instrumental components in the completion of a number of the UAE’s largest and most significant projects, including the Dubai Metro main depot, The Atlantis Hotel on the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, and Capital Gate, Ferrari Experience and the Masdar Institute, all in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi factory has a production capacity of 30,000,000m2 per annum, and the location of the plant allows swift, ease of export to nine countries in the Gulf other than the UAE, including Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Julian Si, Plant Manager, puts his company’s success in the region down to a number of key criteria, namely, security, economic stability and infrastructure – particularly in terms of transport connections.
“We have excellent roads in ZonesCorp, our product tends to be quite fragile in that it’s plasterboard. It must be transported on the back of a truck and the roads must be smooth, at ZonesCorp we have that infrastructure in place,” states Julian.

Saint-Gobain and its Middle East subsidiary Gyproc will continue to play a pivotal role in the completion of the huge infrastructure projects currently on-going throughout the Middle East.
